Portraits of Children
"Without children, tomorrow wouldn't be worth the wait and yesterday wouldn't be worth remembering"
I love creating portraits because it allows me to demonstrate what I see in the child's face. I attempt to go beyond the image captured in a photograph and try ti reveal the uniqueness of the their character and personality.
The best portraits start with photographic references of the subject at play or in a casual everyday setting. Formal portraits are fine, but I love to capture the look on a child's face when they are happy and full of life.
The challenge is to achieve the right balance between what is needed to create a likeness and to also include my personal impression of the one-of -a-kind spirit of the child.
